Lake Bordaglia is one of the most exciting alpine lakes of the region, set in a glacial basin at the foot of Passo Giramondo.
Reaching the locality of Pierabech (1068 m), pass the “Goccia di Carnia” plant and continue for another 150 m: here there is a widening where you can leave your car. Take trail CAI 141, which runs alongside the Rio Bordaglia.
After about 1 hour, you arrive at the first junction, where you keep left and take CAI 142.
After 30 minutes you will reach Casera Bordaglia di Sotto (1565 m), and after 1 hour from the junction you will arrive at Casera Bordaglia di Sopra (1823 m), overlooking the lake. From here, continue to the right for about 30 minutes to reach Passo Giramondo (2005 m), then follow CAI 142a towards Sella Sissanis, skirting Lake Pera. Here the CAI 142 is found again, which passes the ruins of Casera Sissanis di Sopra (1675 m) and leads to Casera Sissanis di Sotto (1550 m). From here, descend along the forest road until you reach the junction with trail 140, where you keep left.
The trail then continues downhill past the Stretta di Fleons, where spectacular waterfalls and gorges can be admired, before returning to your car in a short time.
