The Dimon-Neddis-Paularo loop is an exciting medium-high intensity route, an adventurous hike whose highlight is the view of the Creta del Timau and the arrival at Lake Dimon.
Once you reach Paluzza via the SS52 state road, follow the signs for Ligosullo, and from there to Castel Valdajer (1340 m). Upon arrival, you can leave your car free of charge near the building, which dates back to the war between Austria and the Republic of Venice.
From the castle, take CAI trail 404, which leads to the summit of Mount Neddis (1990 m) in 2 hours, oƯering along the way a refreshing view over the valley. From here, walking along the ridge, you reach Mount Dimon (2043 m) after about 30 minutes, from which you can enjoy an almost complete view of the route, encompassing the Neddis, Paularo, and Lake Dimon.
Continuing along CAI trail 404, you arrive at Mount Paularo (2043 m), where it is worth taking a break to refresh yourself while admiring the panorama composed of the Creta del Timau, Mount Coglians, and the valley below.
From here, take the dirt road that descends along Lake Dimon, another remarkable point of the loop, and which brings hikers back to Castel Valdajer in 2 hours and 45 minutes.
In case of snow, ice or adverse weather conditions, pay close attention to the road, which is very narrow and full of hairpin bends without external protections.
